The Striders Grand Prix Series
The idea of the Grand Prix is to reward progress - so it’s not necessariy the fastest that win but the most improved! Runners that registered last year won't
need to submit times because their times from last year will be used this
year. However, they will still need to register to let the organisers know that they want to take
part. All new entrants will need to submit times so that we can use
them and predict as before
The registration form gives you all the rules and race information. You MUST submit your registration to Sarah Wells (sarahwells28@hotmail.com) before you take part in your first race. If you haven't got an entry form, please e-mail Sarah and one will be sent to you.
We’ve tried to spread the races throughout the year, We’ve also got a good mixture of different
surfaces and distances from 5k to half marathon.
To qualify you just need to take part in a minimum of 5 races, to include 1 of each distance. A
maximum of your top 10 results will count, if you do them all.
The handicap system will be based on your previous race times (which is
why we need you to register) and we’ll use predicted times for
distances you’ve not got times for. With the handicap
system you don’t need to be the first Strider home to win, you
just need to keep improving and beating your own times to reap the
rewards! More detailed rules can be found here.
We will keep you updated on Striders Facebook page and noticeboards, with standings and race entry details throughout the year.
Please contact Sarah (sarahwells28@hotmail.com) if you have any queries.
